OUR DREAM   One of the children in the project was successful in gaining entrance to the law college in Colombo and another student has gained entrance to the dental faculty. Whilst both these students are exceedingly bright, they lack a good foundation in English and have very little knowledge of Information Technology (IT). At university therefore, they will be severely handicapped because their fellow students from Colombo and other major cities of Sri Lanka will be fluent in English and have a good grounding in IT. We strongly believe that if these students from poor homes in Kalutara are provided opportunities to have a good command of the English language and excellent knowledge of IT, not only will they succeed at university, but their employment opportunities would be greatly enhanced.
